When hearing the word 'silver', most people think of coins, jewelry, the 47th element in the periodic table, or silverware. Very few know of it as a natural antiseptic. According to the Royal Society of Chemistry, silver has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Even so, this is not new knowledge. Silver has been used for thousands of years to preserve food and water for long periods of time.
